It’s not too early to start picking up items for your Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. School supplies are a wonderful addition and now is the time to buy them at the best prices. More information will be coming but for now — take advantage of summer sales and clearance racks and shop for your shoeboxes!
This year we are combining Rally Day and the Preschool Kickoff into one terrific R.A.C.E. Day (Rallying Around Christian Education) on Sunday, August 26. This will be a fun and informative day for the entire church, Preschool and friends whom you would like to invite. Immediately after worship, we’ll gather for a delicious all-church picnic. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served. We are asking everyone to bring a side dish or dessert to share. Fun for the children includes games, a jumpy house, and other exciting experiences. Our emphasis will be on providing information about all the Christian educational opportunities our church provides. We will have a “race track” set up with pit stops all along the way. These pit stops will be manned by “crew members” (representatives) from each Sunday School class, small group, Oasis, Live Nativity, VBS, etc.
Everyone is invited to join the fun and make this the most successful fall kick-off QHPC has ever seen. Bring your family, friends, neighbors; it will be a great time to introduce them to our church.
The Resistance is Quail Holla Youth Ministries’ new theme for the fall! Join us as we dive into Christian practices and spiritual disciplines as a way of life that resists our culture’s way of doing things!
Everything kicks off on Sunday September 9th from 4 to 6 pm when co-conspirators from Carmel & Good Shepherd Presbyterian Churches join us for opening worship. After that we’ll meet most Sundays from 4 to 6 pm to talk to think about our most basic needs and the conflicting answers we get from our culture and our faith about how to meet those needs. During that time we’ll meet the practices and disciplines that give us a handle on that need and meet some folks from within our congregation who have some experience and can coach us along in each discipline and practice. We’ll wrap up with some easy examples of the practice to try out over the following week.
We hope you’ll join us each week! Check out the Quail Holla Calendar page for more information!
